FEWER CROWDS
I like this one - the decline in the crowds in popular tourist destinations, becomes more serene and accessible in the fall. That's exactly why I chose to take my Escorted AMA River Cruise group to the south of France (which includes a 3 night pre-cruise land in Paris and 3 night post-cruise land in Barcelona) in November.
Not only is it fall (with all the brilliant colours) there at that time, it's also going to mean shorter lines, less crowded attractions, and a more relaxed pace - ahhh - giving you a chance to immerse yourself fully in the local culture and experiences.
